Christianity is based on concrete events and actual history that happened more than two thousand years ago. The life of Jesus, around which it grew, is recorded in a collection of books known as the Bible. Christians do not merely see him as a miracle-worker. preacher and prophet. Hinduism
Hinduism is the oldest religion founded by the “Rishis” (renowned sages) since ancient times. Unlike other religions Hinduism did not originate from any single prophet or at a particular period of human history. Its uniqueness lies in that it is based on the super-conscious experiences and spiritual realizations of a gamut of saints, sages and seers who also modified the practices to suit the changing needs of the people over the years. It is more a way of life than a religion and is based on the Vedas, the world’s most ancient scriptures.

Buddhism
Prince Siddhartha Gautama, who later became the Buddha, was born in 623 B.C.E. at Lumbini of present Southern Nepal (which was part of ancient India). After mindfully witnessing the reality of human suffering at the age of 29, he left his kingdom to search for the way to True Happiness for all beings. On the Vesak full moon night of his 35th year, the ascetic Gautama entered deep meditation beneath the Bodhi tree and attained supreme Enlightenment, which enabled him to comprehend the true nature of life and the universe. This extraordinary achievement was the attainment of Buddhahood. Thereafter, he was known as the Buddha – ‘The Awakened One.’ Tirelessly leaching for 45 years till his passing into the bliss of Parinirvana at 80, the Buddha became the longest teaching founder of a world religion.
